Our Favorite Sports Bars in Los Angeles Right Now

Yeah, you can watch your favorite team anywhere with a TV, but sometimes you need a cold drink, good food, a lively crowd, and a place that feels just as rowdy as it would if you were at the game.

These places bring that vibe (and they might just be good enough options for the 'big game').

Founder’s Ale House

Location: Mid-City

First up, a local neighborhood favorite: Founder’s Ale House. Conveniently located in the center of LA, this gastropub has a large open space with two upper deck areas, sprawling tables, comfy lounge booths, and even a game zone! The bar does an awesome job at maintaining a lively and inviting energy. Delicious gourmet bites are served, including vegetarian friendly options. Happy hour is everyday 1pm-7pm and 10pm to close. Trivia is also hosted every Tuesday at 8pm with prizes for 1st-3rd place!

Busby’s West

Location: Santa Monica

As one of the largest sports bars on the west side, Busby’s dynamic atmosphere perfectly complements the thrill of catching your favorite team in action. The space consists of an expansive indoor area, beer garden, arcade, pool, and so much more. With multiple big screens and lounge areas, the bar can host up to 8 different sections of games, making it popular for college alumni groups. You can always count on Busby’s to bring in the best electric crowd that elevates game days to another level. Tons of card and board games are also provided for entertainment. Happy hour is offered Weekdays 4-7pm, including 20% off their entire menu. Trivia is hosted on Sundays at 8pm.

Pijja Palace

Location: Silverlake

Not only does Pijja Palace provide a one of a kind experience as an Indian sports bar, but it is also a Michelin Guide recommended establishment. Come enjoy a game day while indulging in a menu that skillfully fuses American classics with elevated Indian influences. Each bite is pure bliss. Along with the curated selection of brews and cocktails, you’re all set to kick back, unwind, and immerse yourself in the excitement of the games on the screens surrounding the walls.

Specials: Truth be told this might not be the BEST recommendation for a large group of friend, but if you’re looking to watch the game in a comfortable seat with a stellar menu, this is the spot.

Barney’s Beanery

Location: Westwood 

A truly iconic Barney’s location, this sports bar and restaurant nestled in the cheerful streets of Westwood always delivers a buzzing and spirited environment. The entire retro-inspired bar is decked out with colorful lights and is filled with memorabilia and photos from the top down! This is a bustling central hub for sports enthusiasts and also those of you who want to simply enjoy the vibes (always hits). The drink and food menu offers a very diverse selection with 40+ beers on draft and the yummiest game day bites. Happy hour is offered on Weekdays 4-7pm, Trivia on Tuesdays 8:30pm (first place prize), and Karaoke on Thursdays 9:30pm.

Location: Santa Monica

Another unique sports haven located in Santa Monica, Nickel Mine brings a relaxed and refined bar ambiance. This interior embodies dark rustic woods, leather sofas, spacious seating, and even a hidden bookcase door.. While this bar embodies classic and timeless vibes, it just as easily attracts a lively crowd for some game day showdowns. Offering a collection of over 300 spirits, and a special whiskey collection, the options are limitless. The menu also offers a variety of gastronomic delights including authentic NY style pizza. Happy Hour is offered Weekdays 5-8pm and Sundays 4-8pm. Check out Karaoke on Tuesdays at 8pm or Whiskey Wednesdays starting at 5pm.

Location: Long Beach

Legends Sports Bar is located in the heart of Belmont Shore and offers an incredible sports viewing experience on its enormous projection screen entertainment system. King’s Row Gastropub

Location: Pasadena
