Frogtown First Fridays

The final Frogtown First Fridays event will be about celebrating animals.  This family-friendly event features art, animal welfare booths, and adoptions at 15 venues, all with a Halloween theme. Highlights include free microchipping at Bauer Pottery, where dog owners can get a free dog bowl for a photo. The Blake Lofts will offer collage night and adoptable kittens, while Luxe Paws and Justine’s Wine Bar will feature more adoptable pets and a food drive.

A Good Used Book Shop's 1-Yr Anniv. Raffle

A Good Used Book Shop is celebrating its 1-year anniversary this Friday with an exciting party! Guests can enjoy drinks from local breweries, including @skydusterbeer and @drinkpricklee, while mingling with fellow book lovers. The event features a raffle with over 30 items and services donated by local businesses, all supporting the HiFi Stairs volunteer project. Attendees can also savor delicious offerings from the HiFi Kitchen pop-up and enjoy music by Justin Yu @roughlydrafted.

Speed Dating + Besa Halloween Party

Join us this Friday at Sassafras Saloon, one of Hollywood's most haunted bars, for an exciting speed dating event! Afterward, stay for the Besa Annual Halloween Party, featuring live music, wine sampling, tarot card readings, and local vendors with stick-and-poke tattoos and tooth gems. Connect with a curated crowd during speed dating (men's tickets are sold out), then enjoy a lively evening with some of our favorite locals. Costumes are optional! Your speed dating ticket includes entry to the Halloween party, or you can attend just the party for $8.

Death to Trash

The Death to Trash Fall Tour kicks off this Saturday at the LA River, inviting the community to join for a fun and impactful day. Participants will team up with partners like @glb_trkkrs, @hikingonpurpose, @spokebicyclecafe, and @weexploreearth to hike along the riverbed and clean up trash. Costumes are encouraged for this outdoor event, which offers a chance to connect with like-minded individuals and make a difference in the local environment. After the cleanup, brunch will be held at @spokebicyclecafe.

LA Catio Tour (cat + patio)

The 2nd Annual Los Angeles Catio Tour invites participants to explore over 10 private catios—cat patios—throughout the city. From DIY projects to custom installations, these enclosures showcase various budgets and styles. The tour kicks off at Pasadena Humane at 9:30 a.m., followed by a self-guided driving tour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Highlights include Kitten Rescue's facility catio, impressive designs by Catio Guy, and a visit to Tail Town Cat Cafe, where guests can relax with some cool cats!

Gratitude Group Sunday Funday

Starting at 10am this event will start with their  slow mornings gratitude group soundbath + journaling. After the slow morning there will be a community gathering in the park with @weexploreearth, pizza, zero proof cocktails by @takearecess, park games, community art, and a live DJ @AdamGoesHam, will play Sunday Oldies/Soul records.

Outdoor Movie Night

The Padel Courts is hosting a spooky outdoor movie event to kick off Halloween, featuring a double feature of cult classics: Scream at 7:30 PM, followed by The Evil Dead at 9:30 PM. Attendees can enjoy snacks and drinks on-site or bring their own with a $10 picnic pass. Ticket options include $9 picnic seating, $15 seated tickets, $25 cozy spots on shared couches or bean bag chairs, and $100 luxury seating for groups of four to six.
